Louvre Abu Dhabi Overview
Louvre Abu Dhabi is a collaboration between the UAE and France, but it goes beyond simply mirroring the Louvre Museum in Paris. Instead, it offers a unique path of exploration, openness, and unity. With tickets from Dubai, you can discover this extraordinary museum, delving into its extensive exhibits that trace human civilizations and their values.
What to Expect?
Journey Across Eras and Civilizations
The museum features pieces on loan from world-famous institutions like Musée du Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, and Centre Pompidou. Spread across 86,000 square feet, it presents hundreds of artifacts in chronological order, taking you from prehistoric times through the birth of Islam to the classical and modern eras.
Admire Stunning Architecture and Setting
Designed by acclaimed architect Jean Nouvel, Louvre Abu Dhabi is a striking sight on water. The elegant white buildings evoke the spirit of an Arabian city and form part of Saadiyat Cultural District, home to other major museums such as the Zayed National Museum and the Guggenheim Museum.
Witness the Mesmerizing Rain of Light
The museum's standout feature is its multilayered geometric dome with thousands of star-like patterns. Inspired by traditional architectural techniques like the Falaj system and woven palm leaves, it filters sunlight into a beautiful interplay of light and shade—perfect for capturing memorable photos.
